How To Install Iguana on Linux

Following these steps you can install and run Iguana on Ubuntu Linux. This has been tested on Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus).

1 Install Dependencies

Enter the following in your terminal to install the dependencies required to build and run Iguana:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install build-essential git cmake libcurl4-openssl-dev

Install also the latest version of nanomsg:

git clone https://github.com/nanomsg/nanomsg
cd nanomsg; mkdir build; cd build; cmake ..
cmake --build .
ctest -C Debug .
sudo cmake --build . --target install
sudo ldconfig

2 Download Iguana

Copy the Iguana repository in your machine;

git clone https://github.com/jl777/SuperNET

3 Build Iguana

Compile the Iguana source.

cd SuperNET/iguana
checkout beta
./m_unix

Once the Iguana executable is built, you can start it from your current directory location with

../agents/iguana &

You can also use screen or your favorite process manager. The following entry in the log,

mainloop

means Iguana is now initialized, and the SuperNET API page can be accessed at http://localhost:7778. If you intend to use Iguana as Bitcoin client, read more about how to run Iguana.
